Ex-JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna Sent to Judicial Custody till June 24 in Sexual Abuse Case

Meanwhile, the Karnataka High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Prajwal's mother Bhavani Revanna on Tuesday in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a women who was reportedly sexually assaulted by Prajwal.

Bengaluru: A Bengaluru court on Tuesday (June 18) has sent former Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) MP Prajwal Revanna, accused of rape and sexual abuse to judicial custody till June 24, news agency PTI reported.

While most reports suggest that Prajwal has been sent to judicial custody till June 24 by the special court for trial of cases against sitting and former MPs and MLAs, The New Indian Express has reported that Prajwal has been sent to custody till July 2.

TNIE report added that the former Hassan MP complained to the court that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) officers “did not look after him properly” and “did not give proper attention to his health issues”. He was produced before the special court as his custody ended on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka high court has granted anticipatory bail to Prajwal’s mother Bhavani Revanna on Tuesday in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a women who was reportedly sexually assaulted by Prajwal.

In the early hours of May 31, Prajwal was arrested by the Karnataka police as soon as he arrived at the Bengaluru airport from Munich. He had fled to Germany using his diplomatic passport on April 26, soon after thousands of videos of him sexually abusing women became public.
