Several galleries dedicated to former prime ministers exist in the new building. However, Jawaharlal Nehru's contributions towards the nation's progress can only be seen in the old building.

New Delhi: Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the gallery dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Pradhan Mantri Museum in Delhi on Monday (January 15). The gallery has been open to the public since January 16.

The Narendra Modi Gallery is located on the ground floor of the Prime Minister’s Museum in the new building.

Several galleries dedicated to former prime ministers, including Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Manmohan Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Rajiv Gandhi, P.V. Narasimha Rao, among others, also exist in the new building.

However, Jawaharlal Nehru’s contributions towards the nation’s progress cannot be seen in the new building. His gallery is located in the old building.

Teen Murti Bhavan, the site of the new Prime Minister’s Museum, was the residence of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.

After the Union government’s announcement to set up a museum at the same location, the Congress had opposed the move, asking the Modi government to leave the Teen Murti complex ‘undisturbed as it is’.

The new building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on April 14, 2022.
