New Delhi: Months after her husband and former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31, his wife Kalpana Soren has taken on a more active role in public life.

In a fresh challenge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Union government, she has said on X (formerly Twitter) that the dictatorial forces conspiring to destroy democracy and the Constitution will receive a befitting reply in the upcoming elections.

After the nomination of INDIA Alliance candidate from Singhbhum Joba Manjhi, Kalpana congratulated her in advance for her massive victory. “Many congratulations, best wishes, and blessings to you, INDIA Alliance candidate, senior leader from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha @JobaMajhi, for filing nomination papers from Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat. Best wishes in advance to respected Mrs. Joba Ji for her massive victory. In the upcoming elections, the dictatorial forces conspiring to destroy democracy and the Constitution will receive a befitting reply,” she posted.

Kalpana had also spoken at the road show held before Majhi’s nomination was filed.

In Singbhum, Majhi will face Geeta Koda – who earlier had won the seat on a Congress ticket, and then switched over the BJP recently.
