Srinagar: Terrorists Thursday shot dead a worker of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party in Kulgam district, officials said in Srinagar.
Ghulam Hassan Lone was shot at by the ultras in his native Devsar area, they said, adding he was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said they have taken cognisance of the incident. Further details are awaited.
Taking to Twitter, J&K Apni Party condemned the attack on Lone, saying: "ApniParty strongly condemns the cowardly act on Apni Party's prominent political worker Ghulam Hassan Lone."
Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said, "Unfortunately there seems to be no end to the spree of political killings in Kashmir."
