Man Aspires to Be Devta But What Lies Ahead is Uncertain: RSS Supremo Mohan Bhagwat

In recent times, fissures have surfaced in the relationship between the BJP and its parent body RSS after BJP president J.P. Nadda had said that while earlier the BJP needed the RSS, now the party runs itself.

New Delhi: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday (July 18) that a man could aspire to become a ‘devta (god)’ but uncertainty persists on whether he would succeed.

“(Only) after achieving human qualities, man aspires to become a superman with supernatural powers and then attain the status of ‘devta’ and ‘bhagwan’. He then aspires for vishwaroop (the supreme power) Nobody is certain about what lies ahead,” he said, adding that development of the inner and outer self is a never-ending process,” said Bhagwat at a village-level meeting in Jharkhand, reported The New Indian Express.

Earlier, after the BJP lost more than 60 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, RSS Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat had said that a ‘true sevak’ does not have arrogance.

His comments were widely interpreted as to be targeted at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“A worker should never be satisfied with his work. Sanatan Sanskriti and Dharma did not come from royal palaces but from ashrams and forests. With changing times, our clothes may change, but our nature will never,” said Bhagwat at the meeting in Jharkhand, reported The New Indian Express.

In recent times, fissures have surfaced in the relationship between the BJP and its parent body RSS, after in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections BJP president J.P. Nadda, in an interview with The Indian Express, had said that while earlier the BJP needed the RSS, now the party runs itself and the RSS is a cultural front. The comments reportedly didn’t go down well with the top leadership of the Sangh, which is being vocal after the election results ever since the BJP failed to secure a majority on its own in the Lok Sabha.
