Position and Stature are Not Permanent, But if You Do Good Work Your Status will Remain: Vasundhara Raje
New Delhi: Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje offered words of wisdom to newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Madan Rathore on Saturday (August 3), while also subtly asserting her own influence within the party.
Raje emphasised that a leader's true strength lies in the love and trust of the people, which cannot be taken away by any means, Deccan Herald reported.
In a veiled reference to her own situation, Raje cautioned against the dangers of arrogance and the impermanence of position and ego. She advised Rathore to focus on genuine work among the people and workers, stressing that this would lead to a permanent position.
“Politics is another name for ups and downs. Everyone must go through this phase. Everyone needs to pay attention to their position and status. Position and stature are not permanent, but if you do good work, then people will remember it, and your status will remain,” Raje was quoted as saying by Zee News.
Raje also highlighted the challenges that lie ahead for Rathore, emphasising the need to unite all party workers. She praised Rathore's patience and dedication, expressing confidence in his ability to take on the difficult task.
The former chief minister made the comments during an event in Jaipur in which Rathore officially assumed the role of president of the Rajasthan BJP. It was attended by prominent party figures, including former BJP president C.P. Joshi, Rajasthan chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma, deputy chief ministers Premchand Bairwa, and Diya Kumari, among others.
