It seems like Bihar’s former deputy chief minister and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has a new scheme for unemployed youth — to play the drums. This is not in any wedding or during a celebration, but in front of those who defecate in the open. His reasoning is that due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts, the country has been able to build 12 crore new toilets and therefore one should shame those who do not use toilets but relieve themselves in the open.
Continuing with its trend of changing names of schemes and programmes, the Narendra Modi government this time around has changed the name of the midday meals scheme to PM Poshan Abhiyan. One can only hope that this change of name also brings about a change in the way the scheme is implemented, enhancing the nutritional status of children.
Meanwhile, in an interview to a magazine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that that he likes ideas and genuinely misses critics. But it is a no-brainer that this government has the dubious record of putting those with ideas and critics behind bars.
On the other hand, after stoking controversy with his remarks against protesting farmers, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has revealed a secret as to how to become a neta (a leader).
In other news, burglars left behind a letter for a deputy collector in Madhya Pradesh after they broke into his house. Unable to find cash, the disappointed robbers in their letter admonished the official as to why does he have to lock his house when there is no cash at home.
