They talk about the reasons their families decided to stay back and what compelled their relatives and other Muslims, cutting across different socio-economic backgrounds, to migrate to Pakistan.

Each of their four distinct stories helps us understand the kind of questions that Indian Muslims were grappling with at that time and form a better picture of the changing social and political fabric of India 70 years ago.
