Political economist Parkala Prabhakar says time has come for a mass movement against the Election Commission of India to seek full accountability and transparency regarding the contentious Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls before the country's electoral and political system is completely destroyed.

"The election commission will have to give us a very clear, transparent explanation. Who are these people who are being deleted and on the basis of what criteria?," says Prabhakar.
