New Delhi: Earlier this month, the Maharashtra Congress tweeted a video of its workers being beaten up by police. The workers had raised slogans of 'Chowkidar chor hai' and released black balloons as a mark of protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Reports also said that people wearing black clothing items were not allowed to enter the venue where Modi launched development projects. Though the police said there was no written order for the protocol, it was the latest in a series of incidents where people wearing black clothing items and accessories were not allowed to participate in events addressed by the prime minister and other senior BJP leaders.

The Wire has mapped some of the reported instances.
