Jabalpur-born poet and broadcaster Aditya Tiwari has been honoured as an ‘Outstanding Achiever’ in the Media and Journalism category at the India-UK Achievers Honours 2026, held at the House of Lords in the UK Parliament in London. The honours are organised by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK, in collaboration with the UK Government, and recognise Indian alumni of British universities who have made notable contributions across fields, including media, the arts, business, and public life.

Tiwari, who grew up in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, was recognised for his work in journalism, broadcasting, and literature, as well as for amplifying underrepresented voices across India and the United Kingdom.

“Receiving this recognition at the UK Parliament is deeply meaningful,” Tiwari said. “It reminds me that storytelling can travel across borders and bring voices from smaller towns into global conversations.” An alumnus of the University of East Anglia, Tiwari holds a Master’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. He has worked as a radio producer with the BBC in the UK and hosted the BBC’s series Voices, which focused on men’s mental health.

His writing has appeared in several leading publications in India and the United Kingdom. He is the author of the poetry collection April is Lush (2019) and the anthology Over the Rainbow: India’s Queer Heroes (2023). His forthcoming poetry collection, All That’s Left Behind, is scheduled to be published in 2026.

Past recipients of the India-UK Achievers Honours include prominent figures such as former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, entrepreneur Ananya Birla, actors Radhika Apte and Parineeti Chopra, and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar.
