New Delhi: Air India has set up a dedicated passenger hotline number: 1800 5691 444 for information on the plane crash in Ahmedabad.

Flight AI171, from Ahmedabad to London's Gatwick airport crashed immediately after take-off today. The plane had 242 people on board, including two pilots and 10 crew members.

Air India will release further information through its X handle and its website.

The company has requested media persons not to call the dedicated passenger hotline number so it can be kept free for the families of those in the flight.

The Ahmedabad Police has also set up a hotline number.
