At Delhi's borders, where farmers from Punjab and Haryana are approaching in protest, the Union government has deployed significant security forces. There are battalions of the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Delhi Police to guard the Singhu border and prevent farmers' entry into Delhi.
Over a hundred barricades and concrete boulders, fortified with barbed wire, have been erected along the roads, creating a formidable obstacle for the protesters. While this measure aims to maintain order, it also raises concerns about the farmers' right to peaceful assembly and expression.
Furthermore, the heavy security presence and road closures are causing significant inconvenience and economic hardship for local residents. Their daily lives and livelihoods are being disrupted due to restricted movement and access to essential services.
