This article has been taken down at 12:25 on March 15, 2024, following an order of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry officially issued under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.

This order was passed on March 6, 2024, as it happens. without giving The Wire an opportunity to be heard.

The Wire, which has submitted a written representation against the take down order under Section 69A, considers the order to be without basis in law, is complying under protest and intends to challenge it in a court of law.

The Union government has ordered The Caravan to take down its article on allegations of torture and murder against the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district within 24 hours.
