The Centre for Equity Studies recently released the sixth edition of its India Exclusion Report (IXR), for the year 2019-20.

The Centre for Equity Studies recently released the sixth edition of its India Exclusion Report (IXR), for the year 2019-20.

The report highlights the exclusion of sections of society from the mainstream and denial of public goods to them on the basis of their class, caste or ethnicity. This year’s report finds four main parameters along which citizens have faced exclusion: citizenship, childcare, employment and healthcare.

The Wire gives a peek into what the report says about India’s most excluded and talks to Harsh Mander about why such reports must inform public opinion.
