The Wire Wrap | After Pahalgam, We Need Accountability, Not Rhetoric

It’s been a somber week in India after a terrorist attack killed at least 25 tourists and one local horse attendant in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday. The attack took place at the Baisaran meadow, where more than a thousand tourists, vendors and others were gathered. The Resistance Front, which is believed to be a wing of the Lashkar-e-Tayabba, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Soon after the attack, outrage and condolences poured in from across the country and the world. Political leaders across the spectrum have expressed anger and grief – and those from the opposition have also repeatedly brought up the question of accountability. This is an important question that those in power appear to be largely ignoring.
