A secret blacklist of individuals and groups, created by Facebook in 2012 in the face of growing public concerns over terrorists being recruited through the platform, was on October 12 published in its entirety by the investigative website Intercept. The 100-page Dangerous Individuals and Organisations (DIO) list contains more than 4,000 people and groups, almost all marked as terror groups.

India-based groups in the DIO list include a range of organisations: from the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), to the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) in the Northeast and several Islamic extremist and terror groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad.

However, a near-complete omission of right-wing Hindutva terror outfits and individuals, with the only one mentioned being Sanatan Sanstha, is a matter of serious concern, The Wire had reported.
