WhatsApp has been facing severe criticism worldwide after introducing new data privacy rules. According to the latest update, the messaging platform will share user data with Facebook and says the change is necessary to help it integrate better with other Facebook products.

In order to continue using WhatsApp, users will have to accept the new data sharing policy by February 8, 2021. By using the messaging platform, users may be sharing with it their usage data, as well as phone’s unique identifier, among other types of metadata.
