New Delhi: WhatsApp was slowly coming back online by 0900 GMT (2:30 pm) on Tuesday, October 25, with some users in India, Asia and the United Kingdom saying they were able to send and receive some messages and videos.

NDTV reported that the restoration began by 2:15 pm, though users reported several glitches and said the app was not working on desktop.

According to Downdetector, which tracks outage reports, people started reporting problems around 3 am EDT (12:30 pm IST), making this the longest outage WhatsApp has had. Nearly 29,000 reports were flagged by users.
