The overflowing Yamuna has caused major troubles in parts of Delhi, reaching East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar where rising waters led to many leaving their homes behind and taking shelter in temporary tents.

The Wire reached ground zero to talk to people.

“Some officials came and promised us that they will be giving us high quality food, but no such assistance have been given to us yet,” said a victim to The Wire.

“Neither Delhi government nor any official has extended any kind of support to us. We are homeless and in need of help,” said a woman.
