Bharatiya Janata Party's B.S. Yeddyurappa has been sworn in as the chief minister of Karnataka and given 15 days to prove his party's majority in the assembly. The Supreme Court dismissed the plea by JD(S) and Congress to stay the formation of the government. The next court hearing is scheduled for May 18.
