In yet another confrontation with campus administrators, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students have warned against attempting to shut down Ganga Dhaba, a popular eatery in the university. Students allege that this is part of a "design" to depoliticise the university by robbing it of places where students can meet and hold discussions on campus, while the administration denies such accusations and claims the eviction notice served is a routine procedure under the shop allotment policy of the university.

The tender for the eatery was in the name of a relative of the person who currently runs it, and thus the administration has termed it "illegal".

Students have come out in defence of the dhaba after a "final warning" letter was sent to the owner asking him  to vacate the premises within 10 days. Watch this video report for more details:
