New Delhi: In a speech in the Rajya Sabha, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh underlined that the government repeatedly suggests that it doesn’t have money when common people ask for respite from price rise, and farmers, students and street hawkers ask for loan waiver. However, the government has written off the debts of 43 companies, he said.

“The employees of this country ask for the Old Pension Scheme to be implemented but the government says we don’t have money,” Singh said.

He added: “The government has written off debts of Rs 3.53 lakh crore owed by 43 companies. This money would have been sufficient to provide respite to street hawkers across the country. This money would have enough to cancel the Agniveer scheme and implement the old scheme for recruitment in the Indian Army.”
