On November 24, a violent clash took place between police and locals in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The city is slowly returning to normalcy after the incident.

Five Muslims lost their lives in the clash. The clash took place during a court-ordered survey at the Shahi Jama Masjid. Locals claim that a large crowd started moving towards the mosque around 7 am, and an encounter broke out with the police. The police opened fire, which is alleged to have killed four people.

Currently, police personnel are deployed at every intersection in Sambhal town. The situation is gradually stabilizing. However, fear still persists among residents near the Jama Masjid.
