Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh’s statement following Uttar Pradesh, that eateries in the state must display nameplates of their owners has drawn criticism with the state government now saying that there is no such order. In the Delhi high court, bail pleas of Delhi riots cases accused will be heard afresh for a third time, as the judge who was hearing the case has now been transferred. Meanwhile in Maharashtra, the Mahayuti government has defended the encounter of the accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case, even as the opposition has hit out calling it a “fake encounter” and the Bombay high court coming down heavily on the police’s actions.
