One of India’ former Ambassadors to the United States has said that several aspects of Donald Trump’s inaugural speech and his swathe of executive orders will “raise concerns all over the world over how his policies will play out."

Meera Shankar was referring to Trump’s claim in his inaugural speech that America will “take back” the Panama Canal and rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. She said such assertions will cause great concern in Latin America.

Shankar also agreed that Trump’s statement about taking back the Panama Canal will worry the Danes and the Canadians, who will now wonder just how serious he was about claiming Greenland and making Canada the 51st state of the United States.
