The Delhi government’s daily bulletin on Thursday did not include hospital wise death data as it usually does. According to media reports, this could be explained by a controversy that ensued over the mismatch of figures given by the government and the hospitals. The Delhi government after this revised its COVID-19 death toll to 106. The 20 deaths which have been added took place in April and May, the authorities. The Delhi government was accused of under-reporting the fatalities but it had sought to blame the hospitals claiming they were not providing the death reports in a timely manner. According to another media report, there was a mismatch between the death toll given by the cremation and burial grounds and the official Delhi government toll.
