Days after senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar rebelled against his own party and joined hands with arch-rival BJP, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a second chargesheet in the land-for-job scam case which names Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi and their son and present Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav.
After this action by CBI, political speculation erupted in Bihar as to whether BJP can perform another “Operation Lotus” after Maharashtra.
RJD’s national spokesperson Nawal Kishore spoke to The Wire on the issue and called the CBI’s “political vendetta”.
“The CBI has already submitted closure reports twice in this case and Tejashwi Yadav was a minor when this happened. Also, you have to notice that the CBI took this action just after the opposition parties announced the dates for the second phase of their meeting,” said Kishore.
