The noted Urdu poet passed away on Tuesday, hours after announcing that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Veteran poet Rahat Indori passed away on Tuesday. The poet was struggling with poor health for a long time and was recently found to have COVID-19. Indori was a celebrated poet who authored more than half a dozen collections of poetry. He was popular at mushairas and had a fan base not just in India but beyond.

Speaking to The Wire‘s Arfa Khanum Sherwani, renowned poet Munawwar Rana recalls his friend Rahat Indori and recollects the old days.
