In an interview to The Wire actor Vidya Balan gives a glimpse of the way she approaches the role, the unlearning, as well as learning that she has to go through to get into the mind and motivation of another person. Speaking to Namrata Joshi, she also describes how over the years, playing various characters has helped her become less judgmental about her own self and what it means to play a real person. In her forthcoming film, Shakuntala Devi, she plays the famous mathematician.
