New Delhi: Despite the United States and Iran both signalling that a peace deal is within reach, conclusive steps are yet to be taken to achieve a memorandum of understanding. Meanwhile, US Central Command said on Saturday (June 13) it downed multiple Iranian one-way attack drones targeting commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
“US forces have downed all of them in recent hours as traffic flow through the strait continues unimpeded,” CENTCOM said in a post on X, claiming the international trade corridor remained "open for transit."
On Friday (June 12), CENTCOM asserted it had not eased its blockade of Iranian ports, saying it had redirected 139 commercial ships and disabled nine other vessels since April 13.
As the war in the Gulf enters its 106th day, Israel continues its military onslaught in Lebanon, demolishing governmental buildings and homes and killing an individual in southern Lebanon's Bint Jbeil and Tyre districts, according to the country’s National News Agency.
