Day 119 of US-Israel War on Iran: Tehran Calls Rubio's GCC Statement About the Strait 'Irresponsible and Provocative'
New Delhi: The US-Israel war on Iran has entered day 119 on Friday (June 26). Iran's foreign ministry responded to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statement, terming it “interventionist, irresponsible and provocative”, while stating that the Strait of Hormuz will be managed, and the security of the territorial waters and coasts of Iran and Oman, in accordance with the MoU.
On Thursday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was in Bahrain to attend a Gulf Cooperation Council meeting, warned that Iranian tolls on ships passing the Strait of Hormuz would spread to other waterways, risking “total chaos”. He added that not a single Gulf country supports tolls in the Strait of Hormuz.
“There isn’t a nation on Earth that supports having to pay money to go through the straits,” Rubio said.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards' had earlier threatened against any crossings of the Strait of Hormuz without authorisation, saying vessels that do not comply “will be dealt with”.
Meanwhile, Israel's attacks in Lebanon continue. Hezbollah has accused Israel of a “flagrant” ceasefire breach as a drone strike killed three civilians in southern Lebanon on Friday.
