Iran on Saturday asserted that no damage was caused by the US attack on Sirik port and claimed that the situation was "normal," according to semi-official Mehr news agency.

The US on Friday (June 26) attacked Iran jeopardising the fragile ceasefire. The US military said that the strikes on Iranian missile and drone storage sites and coastal radar positions were undertaken due to "unwarranted aggression against commercial shipping by Iranian forces" that “clearly violated the ceasefire.”

US Central Command (CENTCOM) called it "a powerful response to yesterday's attack on a commercial ship that was transiting the Strait of Hormuz."

The Iranian government, however, hit back against the US claim defending Tehran's position over the drone attack in Strait of Hormuz.

“The Strait of Hormuz is governed by Iran, so: Respect the rules,” Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security commission, wrote on social media.

“This is not a violation of the ceasefire; it is ceasefire management,” he added.
