Day 121 of US-Israel War on Iran: Trump Threatens to Annihilate Iran as IRGC Strikes Kuwait and Bahrain

President Donald Trump threatened to 'militarily complete the job' and destroy Iran if aggressions continue after US Central Command reportedly struck 10 Iranian targets. In response, Iran has launched airstrikes against US-allies Kuwait and Bahrain.

Days after the US and Iran signed a 14-point memorandum of understanding on June 17, 2026, calling for an end to the hostilities in West Asia, recent military escalation has obliterated the region's fragile peace. As the US-Israel war against Iran enters its 121st day, US President Donald Trump has threatened to annihilate Iran on his Truth Social platform.

"There ‌may come a point when we are ‌no longer able to be reasonable and ⁠will be forced to ‌militarily complete the job that we very successfully started," he wrote on Saturday (June 27), "If that happens, the Islamic ⁠Republic of Iran ⁠will no longer exist." The threat came after US military reportedly struck multiple Iranian targets in response to Iran's attack on shipments in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US Central Command, in a social media post on Saturday (June 27), backed the claim, reporting that it struck 10 targets, including Iranian military “surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defence sites, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities.”

According to Al Jazeera, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Sunday (June 28) that it launched ballistic missiles and drones at the US Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait and the US Fifth Naval Fleet at Port Salman in Bahrain in retaliation to the US bombing of five coastal locations. They added that "any enemy aggression" will be met with a "crushing response."

Meanwhile, the US-brokered Israel-Lebanon peace agreement is also on shaky ground as Israel struck south Lebanon a day after the security deal. The Israeli military claimed it carried out an airstrike on suspected militants in the Nabatiyeh area. According to Reuters, Hezbollah chief Naim ‌Qassem said ⁠that framework signed in Washington was "null," describing it as a "humiliation" and a surrender of sovereignty. He added that any statements linking Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon to Hezbollah's disarmament crossed "red lines."
