Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that the Strait of Hormuz is Tehran’s “greatest instrument of power” and insisted that talks on a final deal will not begin until the MoU provisions are implemented. Further, he underlined that Iran was prioritising diplomacy with the United States, but remained ready for war.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian about the recent developments in West Asia and welcomed the progress in ongoing negotiations and expressed hope that continued diplomatic efforts would lead to lasting peace in the region.
