A day after Iran announced that the Strait of Hormuz – which it had blockaded in retaliation to the US-Israeli strikes on it 50 days ago now – stood open to commercial traffic in view of the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire, it has warned that the US's continuing blockade in the waterway breaches its truce with Washington and resumed its blockade.

Later in the day, the British military said that two gunboats of the Iranian Revolurionary Guard Corps opened fire on a tanker attempting to transit the strait. Two Indian-flagged vessels in the waterway subsequently turned around, the AP reports.
