New Delhi: Tensions in West Asia continued to escalate on Monday as senior Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei warned the United States to end its blockade of Iranian ports, saying the Sea of Oman could otherwise become “your graveyard”. Meanwhile, UN rights expert Francesca Albanese called on Mediterranean countries to ensure the safety of the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla amid reports that Israeli forces may intercept the vessel.

Israeli media outlets reported that the Israeli military is preparing for another round of confrontation with Iran, including possible strikes on energy facilities. Separately, The New York Times reported that Israel’s military had operated a second secret base in Iraq’s western desert.
