Day 91 of US-Israel War on Iran: Washington, Tehran Agree on MoU For 60-Day Ceasefire Extension, Trump Yet to Sign
New Delhi: It is Day 91 of the war in West Asia, and the United States and Iran have agreed on a framework for the 60-day ceasefire extension deal, although it is still awaiting US President Donald Trump’s approval. The agreement could potentially lift the restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
The US sources confirmed to Axios News that the two sides have agreed on a memorandum of understanding to extend the ceasefire and launch negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme.
Vice President J.D. Vance earlier said that Washington and Tehran have made “a lot of progress” on an agreement to end the war.
Meanwhile, for the first time, the United Nations has placed Israeli prison and state agencies on its global blacklist for 2026 for committing sexual violence in conflict areas. This comes after years of documented evidence of rampant sexual abuse of Palestinian detainees within the Israeli prison system.
