United States military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had “defeated multiple” Iranian missiles and drones, as civilian vessels and regional West Asian allies Kuwait and Bahrain came under attack. It underlined that it conducted “self-defence” strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island. Similarly, Kuwait’s military said air defence systems intercepted incoming drones and missiles. In Bahrain, warning sirens were activated.

“Iran launched several ballistic missiles toward regional neighbours; however, all failed to hit their intended targets. Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart enroute, and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by US and Bahrain air defense forces,” CENTCOM said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Iranian revolutionary guards or IRGC said that a US-Israeli vessel was targeted by the IRGC Navy "in response" to "act of aggression" by the US millitary.

“Late last night, the aggressive US military struck an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz with an aerial projectile, causing damage to the tanker’s engine room,” IRGC’s public relations department said, Al Jazeera reported.

“In response to this act of aggression and the violation of regulations governing the Strait of Hormuz, a vessel belonging to the American-Zionist enemy, named Panaya, was targeted by missiles launched by the IRGC Navy,” it added.
