In its latest report, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights offers a distressing picture of the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and stresses on the world's obligation to ensure accountability and justice.

The report covers the period from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025.

It spotlights sustained horrors including the continued destruction of Gaza, the displacement of communities, the killing and torture, the blockade that led to a famine, and the extraordinary impunity enjoyed by Israel in doing all this.

The report also offers shocking figures – a glossary of which gives a jarring idea of what the destruction has brought.

"The conduct of hostilities by Israeli military in Gaza continued to kill and maim unprecedented numbers of civilians; cause a catastrophic humanitarian crisis; displace virtually the entire population of Gaza, often multiple times; and destroy the remaining civilian infrastructure. This imposed on Palestinians conditions of life increasingly incompatible with their continued existence in Gaza as a group," the report says.
