Iran targeted Israel's capital Tel Aviv with long-range missiles in response to Israel's targeted strikes on its nuclear sites, top generals and scientists. Israel meanwhile has also launched new strikes on Tehran early today.

Reports noted that some Iran missiles made it through Israel's missile defence system, causing damage and injuries, though the full extent of the damage is not yet clear.

Iran said that Israel’s attacks killed 78 people and wounded more than 320 with the “the overwhelming majority” of victims civilians.

Associated Press reports that Israel's paramedic service has said at least 34 people were injured in the country.
