Mid-rung leaders in both AAP and Congress told The Wire that volunteers and party workers in Delhi faced a difficult time in convincing people that they were supporting candidates fielded by one another under a seat-sharing arrangement.

Delhi goes to polls on May 25 and BJP's Chandni Chowk candidate Praveen Khandelwal now has to prove his political mettle. His main contender is J.P. Aggarwal of the Congress, who has been a member of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Despite covering a large part of Lutyens' Delhi, the constituency is also home to several unregulated colonies and slums, where basic amenities are still an issue. Bansuri Swaraj, BJP candidate, and Somnath Bharti of AAP have been promising to resolve issues around power supply, water supply and roads.

The AAP convenor, who is out on bail on strict conditions, has very little time left for campaigning. His party has fielded candidates in Delhi, Punjab, Assam, Haryana and Gujarat.
