The 18th Lok Sabha session continued for the sixth year without a deputy speaker. While the inaugural and Budget Session of 2024 had one of the longest discussions on the budget in recent years, though two-thirds of the budget was still passed without discussion.

BSP has fielded the highest number of candidates at 488. The number of women contesting general elections has increased from 3% in 1957 to 10% in 2024.

Eleven out of the 15 sessions held during this Lok Sabha were adjourned early. As a result, 40 scheduled sittings did not take place (13% of scheduled sittings).

Lok Sabha functioned for 74% of its scheduled time, and Rajya Sabha for 81%.

All five state assemblies met less than 30 days a year. In 2020, Madhya Pradesh held six sittings.

Women's representation in Lok Sabha has increased from 5% in the first Lok Sabha to 15% in the current Lok Sabha.

The Bill states that reserved seats shall be allotted by rotation after every delimitation exercise. This implies rotation approximately every 10 years as after 2026 delimitation is mandated to take place after every census.

Twenty-three Bills were passed during this session and the session also saw the discussion on the first no-confidence motion of the 17th Lok Sabha.

The Karnataka Conduct of Government Business in the State Legislature Act, 2005 mandates that the legislature meets for at least 60 days in a year, over four sessions. No legislative assembly since 2002 has met for more than 60 days.

In this session, Lok Sabha functioned for 33% of its scheduled time (46 hours) and Rajya Sabha for 24% (32 hours).
