On January 31, the world saw a total lunar eclipse coinciding with the phenomena known as the 'blue moon' and the 'supermoon'.

On January 31 2018, the world saw a total lunar eclipse coinciding with the phenomena known as the ‘blue moon’ and the ‘supermoon’. According to United States’ National Aeronautics and Space Administration states that the moon we saw yesterday was “the third in a series of ‘supermoons’ – when the Moon is closer to Earth in its orbit and about 14 percent brighter than usual”. It was also the second full moon of the month – called the ‘blue moon’.
