New Delhi: After Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed NCP (SP) Supremo Sharad Pawar and accused him of “perpetuating the politics of betrayal and treachery in Maharashtra since 1978″, Pawar has hit back, reminding the former to maintain the decorum of his post.>
“This country has seen many excellent Home Ministers, but none of them was externed from his state,” said Pawar, taking a jab at Shah, reported Deccan Herald.>
Shah was externed from Gujarat for two years in 2010 in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, in which he was later discharged.>
Pawar, who is a four-time Chief Minister of Maharashtra and a three-time Union Minister, cited example of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to say that earlier there used to be a good communication between political leaders, which is missing now.>
Pawar cited the example of the time when Vajpayee had made him the vice chairman of the Disaster Management Authority after the Bhuj earthquake, despite the fact that at the time Pawar was in the opposition.>
“The BJP’s victory in Maharashtra buried the politics of instability and backstabbing started by Sharad Pawar in 1978. You (the people) have buried such politics 20 feet underground,” Shah had earlier said on Sunday (January 12), targeting Pawar.>
