Shiv Sena (UBT) Wins Two Seats in Maharashtra Legislative Council Polls, BJP Bags One

The elections to the constituencies were held on June 26, with 1.43 lakh voters exercising their franchise and 1.3 lakh votes being deemed valid.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) won two seats while the BJP won one in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, the results of which were announced on Monday.

While the Shiv Sena (UBT) won the Mumbai Graduates and Mumbai Teachers constituencies, the BJP won the Konkan Graduates seat, reported the Press Trust of India.

The elections to the constituencies were held on June 26, with 1.43 lakh voters exercising their franchise and 1.3 lakh votes being deemed valid.

In the Mumbai graduates constituency, Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Anil Parab emerged victorious, defeating the BJP’s Kiran Shelar.

Parab registered a comfortable victory by receiving 44,784 votes while Shelar received 18,772 votes.

In the Konkan Graduates seat, the BJP’s Niranjan Davkhare defeated Ramesh Keer of the Congress. Davkhare received more than 1 lakh votes while Keer could poll only 28,500 votes.

From the Mumbai Teachers seat, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader JM Abhyankar emerged victorious, reported PTI.
