In her speech in the Lok Sabha, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule on Wednesday (July 24) appealed to the Union government to hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

“I hope next year elections are held in Jammu and Kashmir and they pass their own Bill and own budget,” Sule said. “If you can hold national elections in Jammu and Kashmir, parliamentary elections are held, then why not assembly elections?” the MP questioned.

Further, she criticised the Union Budget 2024 saying it has failed to address various issues facing the country, including agrarian distress.
